EU4Culture Revitalizes the Historic Puppet Theatre Building in Albania

At the inauguration of the Puppet Theater, EU Ambassador to Albania Silvio Gonzato highlighted the significance of the European Union’s culture initiative, EU4Culture. He described it as one of the most vital EU projects, emphasizing that its impact extends beyond building restorations to provide direct benefits for citizens.

“This initiative encompasses much more than just the Puppet Theater; it involves the preservation of historical buildings and monuments,” Gonzato stated.

According to the EU ambassador, the process of integration is not solely focused on regulations and economic factors, but rather on fostering societal transformation that ensures equal rights for all.

Gonzato encouraged Albanians to maintain their cultural identity, asserting, “The strength of the EU lies in its diversity.”

He elaborated, “We bring together talents, various cultures, and rich histories. Our unity is rooted in diversity. All our differences come together under the shared values of the European Union,” said Ambassador Gonzato.

The National Puppet Theater building, constructed in 1924, originally housed the Albanian Parliament. The historic venue has since been renovated to meet international standards, featuring a robust structure and a versatile stage equipped with an advanced lighting system that adapts to the performances. / / December 26/
