UK Chancellor Tells Brussels: We Won’t Side with Trump Over the EU

“The notion that the UK or the EU must choose sides between key allies, as if we are either aligned with America or the EU, is entirely mistaken,” she told the Eurogroup.

“We are committed to building a deeper and more mature relationship with our European neighbors after years of intentionally seeking to distance ourselves,” she added.

Making her case to Brussels, Reeves emphasized the need to reduce trade barriers between the EU and the UK, highlighting the economic harm caused by diminished exports on both sides of the English Channel. She also advocated for the City of London as a key growth driver for the bloc.

However, she reassured that the UK remains firmly dedicated to its partnership with the U.S.

Additionally, the chancellor expressed her vision for establishing “a stable, long-term relationship with China.”

Oh sure, because nothing screams “mature relationship” like playing footsie with both the EU and the US while trying to convince everyone you’re not just a pair of indecisive lovebirds! 🤷‍♂️ #BrexitRomCom

Oh, brilliant! Who knew the UK could juggle alliances like a three-ring circus? 🎪 Just waiting for the next act, where we all hold hands and sing Kumbaya while negotiating trade deals with China – fancy that! 🤑

Oh, fantastic! A chancellor who can juggle alliances like a circus clown—let’s just hope she doesn’t drop the ball on Brexit while trying to impress everyone at the Eurogroup 😏. Who knew diplomacy could be such a merry-go-round? 🎠

Oh, brilliant! Who knew that choosing between a burger and a croissant could lead to such a diplomatic pickle? 🍔🥐 Just what we need—more tea regarding trade barriers and “mature relationships” while the whole continent’s playing musical chairs with alliances! 😂🇪🇺
