Georges Bouchez Voices Criticism of High Taxes During Arizona Government Discussions

Brussels (Eurotoday) – Georges-Louis Bouchez criticizes tax proposals in Arizona government talks, while Bart De Wever supports the scenario.

Leader of the Reformist Movement, Georges-Louis Bouchez made his statements just before new discussions with formateur Bart De Wever, who is managing the five Arizona parties in bilateral talks regarding the budget and major reforms in taxation, pensions, and the labour market.

The Arizona scenario for the federal government, involving the parties N-VA, CD&V, MR, Les Engagés, and Vooruit, is under consideration. blank” rel=”noopener”>New negotiations will determine its viability. Bart De Wever (N-VA), as formateur, continues to support this government, calling it the best option.

Georges-Louis Bouchez voiced frustration regarding the government negotiations on 8 Dec 2024. In his opinion, people are putting too many taxes on the table.

In the most taxed country in the world. We have to remain serious. We are prepared to accept things, but some people have forgotten that people did not vote for Vivaldi. Doing the same as Vivaldi is therefore not possible.

Furthermore, the federal negotiators will persist in working on the socio-economic texts this weekend. Formateur Bart De Wever is expected back at the Palace next Tuesday for an update. The N-VA chairman has been working towards a partial agreement on the budget for some time. Last Sunday, the party chairmen already met all night to discuss the budget tables, but it turned out to be too early to start the landing. Last week, the Arizona chairmen negotiated on themes such as health, defence and migration, while below the waterline, technical working groups have been working on the socio-economic texts since Thursday.

Blimey, Bouchez is really onto something here—who knew taxes could be a topic of conversation in Arizona? Must be a slow news day when they’re digging deeper into the pocket of the already broke! 😂💸
