Poland Reignites Dispute with Musk Over Starlink Exclusion

“Note: Poland is not included in the Europe region above. Accounts registered in Poland are treated as Poland-only for home-country use,” states the current guidance from Starlink.

Polish Digital Affairs Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski criticized Musk, accusing SpaceX, Starlink’s parent company, of treating Poles as second-class customers and demanding clarity on the regulatory reasons for this change.

“Poland is not a second-tier market. Polish customers are not second-tier customers,” Gawkowski wrote on X. If SpaceX cites “local regulatory requirements,” Warsaw expects them to specify the exact rules rather than resorting to “general explanations,” he added.

The new rules have applied to new Starlink customers in Poland since July 14, 2026, and will affect existing users from August 17.

This isn’t the first instance of conflict between Sikorski and Musk regarding Starlink. Last year, Musk told the Polish minister to “be quiet, small man,” after Sikorski warned that Warsaw might consider other satellite service providers for Ukraine.

SpaceX did not immediately respond to POLITICO’s request for comment.

  1. Seems like Musk’s idea of a “global” service has a bit of a Polish clause—who knew being a customer could feel like a game of musical chairs? 🎶 Guess we’re all just waiting for the next round of “regulatory hopscotch!”

Typical Musk, right? Treating Poland like it’s the last kid picked for dodgeball – but then again, who needs connectivity when you’ve got all those beautiful potato fields? 😂

Funny how Musk thinks Poland’s just another pit stop on the way to Mars. But hey, at least our internet’s still faster than his replies! 😂

Seems like Musk’s idea of inclusivity is like a Polish winter—cold and full of surprises. Maybe he’ll throw in a free potato peeler next time to sweeten the deal! 😂💼

  5. Seems like Musk thinks Poland is just that quaint little corner of Europe where everyone sips pierogi instead of launching satellites. 🤷‍♂️ But hey, at least our internet connection is as slow as a Warsaw tram at rush hour! 🚋💨
