Novo Nordisk is aiming to reach a wide range of patients with this pill to secure market share, according to CEO Mike Doustdar’s statements last week.

Doustdar mentioned that the company plans to launch in Germany at their selected price, disregarding the U.S. administration’s pressure to increase prices in Europe.

The U.S. has been urging EU countries to pay higher prices for medications to counterbalance revenue losses from reduced U.S. drug prices. The U.K. is the only country that has agreed to higher medicine prices through a bilateral agreement with the U.S.

With Foundayo’s entry into the U.K., competition is set to emerge initially within the private sector. A decision regarding NHS coverage of the pill is awaited by November 18, to be determined by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.
