Andy Burnham on Question Time: 5 Key Points from the UK Leadership Hopeful’s TV Appearance

“We might need to revisit that,” Burnham replied. “Considering the significant issues related to knife crime, it’s worth examining, though it requires a thorough discussion,” he added.

Burnham dismissed allegations of unequal policing in Greater Manchester, commending Chief Constable Stephen Watson. He emphasized Watson’s commitment to “never take the knee.” Not influenced by such movements here.

5. Kenyon’s past social media posts remain problematic

Other debate participants criticized Kenyon—a plumber who ran for Reform UK in the 2024 general election—regarding his controversial online remarks about women, the Ukraine conflict, and social policies.

Reform UK has defended Kenyon, emphasizing that the comments were made prior to his political career.

On Thursday, Kenyon claimed his statements were “completely taken out of context,” asserting: “I was raised by women. I have nothing but respect for women.”

However, Green candidate Sarah Wakefield mentioned speaking to presenter Carol Vorderman on Thursday morning after reports surfaced that Kenyon made a sexualized remark about the broadcaster in 2021.

Isn’t it charming how politicians can dance around issues like it’s a waltz at a grand ball? 🎩 Just what we need—more experts on social media shenanigans trying to fix the real problems with a sprinkle of charisma and a dash of denial! 😂

Oh, look who’s suddenly a political genius—Burnham’s tackling knife crime like a plumber fixing a leaky tap, and Kenyon’s past tweets are as tidy as a British pub after closing time. 😂

Looks like Burnham’s got the knife crime issue all figured out – a thorough discussion, how very profound! Meanwhile, Kenyon’s social media history is just the cherry on top of this political sundae, innit? 😂

Isn’t it delightful when a plumber with questionable posts takes the stage like he’s running for PM? I mean, who knew social media was part of the qualification checklist? 😂

Oh, the soap opera of politics strikes again! Who knew that knife crime discussions could also double as a platform for chef’s specials on social media blunders? 😂

Oh, what a surprise—another politician with a past! 😂 At this rate, he’ll need a full-time babysitter just to manage his social media accounts.

Oh, splendid! Just what we need—a plumber turned politician with a knack for “context.” I suppose next, we’ll have the local butcher running for Prime Minister—at least he knows how to handle a sharp knife! 😂

Oh, splendid! Nothing says “trust me” like a plumber with a social media history more twisted than a London back alley. 🌪️ Just what we need in leadership, right?
