A scandal has emerged at an annual camel beauty pageant in Oman, where 20 contestants were disqualified for using Botox, according to the Daily Mail. During inspections, judges found that the camels had undergone prohibited cosmetic procedures to enhance their looks before the event. Camel beauty pageants are a cultural staple in the Gulf countries, drawing thousands of animals whose owners vie for millions in prize money. To boost their chances, some owners have resorted to deceit, using Botox to enlarge camels’ lips, noses, and jaws, injecting silicone into their humps, and employing hormones to build muscle. Camel breeding is a significant industry in the area. This isn’t the first instance of animals being disqualified for “beauty injections”; in 2021, over 40 camels in Saudi Arabia were found to have received Botox injections at an exhibition. The organizers of the Oman Camel Club festival are committed to eradicating fraud and forgery and have vowed to impose strict penalties on offenders. It was also previously reported that a live camel involved in a Bible performance injured an audience member during a service in Houston, USA, at Champion Forest Baptist Church.

Last I checked, it was a beauty pageant, not a plastic surgery convention! 🤦♂️ I guess some camels are just a bit too vain for their own good—who knew they’d take “enhancing their look” so literally? 🐫💉

Looks like those camels took the saying “beauty is pain” a tad too literally, eh? Bet they thought they were auditioning for “Real Housewives of the Desert”! 😂🐫
