Influencer MEP Fidias Set to Respond to Embezzlement Allegations

The lawmaker stated he has not been officially informed of the EPPO investigation and intends to “release a video addressing each accusation in detail.”

Panayiotou, better known by his first name, Fidias, was elected to the European Parliament in 2024 as an independent lawmaker. He shares his political journey through YouTube videos to clarify the inner workings of EU institutions. These videos have been commended by tech mogul and X-owner Elon Musk.

An EPPO spokesperson stated, “EPPO does not comment on ongoing investigations, nor do we publicly confirm which cases we are working on,” to avoid jeopardizing potential ongoing procedures and their outcomes.

The Luxembourg-based EPPO is responsible for identifying criminal misuse of EU funds.

Cyprus’ anti-corruption authority did not provide an immediate comment.
