Nordic Officials Reportedly Dismiss Trump’s Greenland Claims

Trump has asserted that Greenland is “occupied by Russian and Chinese ships” and emphasized that the U.S. should seize control of the island for national security purposes — a narrative that has gained momentum recently.

Norway’s Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide informed Norwegian broadcaster NRK that there was “minimal” Russian or Chinese activity near Greenland, despite ongoing Russian submarine operations closer to Norway itself.

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson stated at a security conference in northern Sweden that Stockholm was “highly critical” of the Trump administration’s actions towards Venezuela, concerning international law.

“We are likely even more critical of the rhetoric against Greenland and Denmark,” Kristersson added, noting that the rules-based international order is facing unprecedented strain.

Kristersson suggested that the U.S. should acknowledge Denmark’s long-standing role as a loyal ally, instead of stirring concerns about Greenland. “On the contrary, the United States should thank Denmark,” he remarked.

All five parties in Greenland’s parliament reaffirmed their position late Friday, issuing a joint statement: “We do not want to be Americans, we do not want to be Danes, we want to be Greenlanders.”

Seems like Trump’s got a new real estate gig in the Arctic! Who knew the land of polar bears and icebergs was on the market? 🥴🧊

Just what we needed, another episode of “Trump’s Global Realty Show.” Who knew Greenland’s got such high demand? ☕️🇩🇰 #WishfulThinking

Seems like Trump’s got his sights set on a chilly vacation spot, too bad the locals aren’t exactly rolling out the welcome mat. 🥶 Just what we need, more “national security” concerns over a place that can’t even decide if it wants to be a part of the ice age! 🤦‍♂️

Oh, right, because nothing screams national security like a game of Monopoly over Greenland. What’s next, a bidding war for the moon? 🇩🇰🌌

Funny how the only thing Trump seems to be seizing is headlines, not actual land. 🤦‍♂️ Who knew Greenland was the hottest property on the geopolitical real estate market? 🏠

Seems like Trump’s trying to trade Greenland like it’s some sort of Monopoly property—good luck with that, mate! 🏝️🇩🇰

Seems like Trump’s got his sights set on Greenland while the rest of us are just trying to find a decent cup of coffee. Maybe he should take a holiday there instead—might learn a thing or two about, you know, not trying to buy countries. 😏☕️

Seems like Trump thinks Greenland is the new black market for international real estate—who needs a map when you’ve got a vivid imagination, eh? 😂🗺️

  9. Seems like Trump thinks Greenland is the new goldmine of geopolitics—next, he’ll suggest we trade it for a couple of pizzas 🍕. What’s next, a holiday resort for “national security”? 😂

Isn’t it adorable how Trump thinks Greenland is just a cozy little American annex waiting to be claimed? 😂 Meanwhile, the locals just want to keep their icebergs and not be part of a reality show!

Oh, brilliant! Who knew Greenland was the next hot real estate investment? 🤣 I guess it’s just another day in the life of a global superpower trying to buy its way to security – classic!

  12. Imagine thinking you can just add Greenland to your real estate portfolio like it’s a fancy hotel in Miami. 😂 “Thanks but no thanks,” said Greenland, while the rest of us just sip our coffee and roll our eyes.

Seems like Trump’s got a new real estate venture in mind—who knew Greenland was on the market? 🏝️ Maybe he should stick to golf courses and leave the geopolitics to the grown-ups. 😂
