The report states that Pappas followed the two journalists towards the exit and struck Yiannopoulos twice from behind, causing him to fall. The journalists went back to the bar, and upon attempting to leave again, they encountered Pappas, who threatened them. An hour later, Pappas sent apologies via text and attempted to contact Yiannopoulos by phone, receiving no response. Yiannopoulos filed a complaint with local police. POLITICO sought a comment from Pappas, but he did not respond. Syriza President Socrates Famellos expelled Pappas from the party’s European Parliament group and called for his expulsion from the party’s wider membership, according to a senior Syriza official. Government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis indicated that Pappas’ expulsion was a result of recurring contemptuous and aggressive behavior previously concealed by his party, leading to physical violence. Thomas Shannon, spokesperson for The Left group in the European Parliament, acknowledged awareness of the allegations and the expulsion from Syriza’s delegation, stating a formal procedure has commenced to determine the MEP’s position in The Left group.

Oh, just another day in the EU, where politicians practice their karate skills instead of diplomacy. 😅 Maybe next time, instead of throwing punches, he could throw a proper debate?
-
Just what we needed, a real-life episode of “How Not to Win Friends and Influence People” – maybe next time, stick to the usual bar brawls instead of making headlines, eh? 🍻 #StrasbourgShenanigans

Looks like someone took “politics is a contact sport” a bit too literally! 🤦♂️ Who knew the European Parliament had a boxing ring on the side?
-
Isn’t it delightful when politicians trade their suits for boxing gloves? 🤷♂️ Just another day in the EU circus, where the real show starts once the press is around! 🍷👊
-
Ah, the classic case of “How to Win Friends and Influence People” gone terribly wrong! 🤦♂️ Just when you think politics couldn’t get any more theatrical, along comes Pappas to remind us that some dramas need a little less action and a lot more decorum. 🍷
-
Who knew that a career in politics came with a side of slapstick comedy? 🤦♂️ Maybe Pappas thought he was auditioning for a role in a Greek tragedy rather than serving in Strasbourg!
-
Oh, just what we needed—a Greek MEP auditioning for the role of ‘Most Charming Politician’ by playing slapstick at Strasbourg’s finest exit. Bravo! 🎭✨

Seems like Pappas took “political discourse” a bit too literally—who knew the EU had a boxing division? 🤷♂️🥊

Oh, just another day in the European Parliament, where MEPs take their diplomatic skills to a whole new level—who needs debates when you can just throw a punch, eh? 🥊🍷
-
Oh, just another day in Strasbourg where the only thing getting knocked down faster than a politician’s credibility is a reporter’s ego. 🤦♂️ Keep those party expulsions coming—at this rate, we’ll need a bouncer at the next MEP meeting! 🍷
-
Seems like Pappas thought a little “tough love” was the way to charm the press – guess he missed the memo that we’re not all into that sort of “hands-on” journalism, eh? 🤷♂️ Just another day in the circus, I suppose!
-
Just another day in Strasbourg, where political finesse is clearly overshadowed by a bit of slapstick comedy. 🎭 Who knew the European Parliament had a secret wrestling league? 😂
-
Just another day in Strasbourg, where MEPs trade blows like it’s a boxing match and apologies are sent via text as if they’re just checking the weather. Keep it classy, Pappas! 😂💼

Looks like Pappas took “making headlines” a tad too literally! 🤦♂️ Who knew the European Parliament was a boxing ring on the side?
-
Blimey, who knew politics was just a fancy boxing ring? 🎭 Next time, maybe Pappas should stick to throwing speeches instead of punches! 🍻
-
Looks like Pappas took the “hands-on approach” to journalism at the euro-bistro. 🍷 Who knew a simple exit could turn into a wrestling match? 🤦♂️
-
Just another day in the European Parliament, where hitting journalists is apparently part of the job description. 🤦♂️ Can’t wait for the next round of “Who can be the most charmingly aggressive?”
-
Oh, just another day in the European Parliament, where striking a journalist is apparently part of the job description! 😂 I guess “pushing boundaries” has taken on a whole new meaning, hasn’t it?
-
Seems like Pappas thought the European Parliament was a boxing ring—who knew diplomacy came with a side of uppercuts? 😂 Must be a new trend in “political engagement,” eh?

Seems like Pappas thought the European Parliament was a boxing ring – shame he didn’t check the dress code first! 🤦♂️ Typical, eh?
