CDU-Wahlkampf: Ein Hauch von Trump

The CDU’s election manifesto is entering the final stretch, and the Christian Democrats’ campaign is nearly ready to roll out. Gordon Repinski outlines what the communications agency presented to the CDU executive committee, the special event Friedrich Merz has chosen to kick off the campaign, and why some crucial political answers are still missing.

In the “200-Second Interview,” Karin Prien joins the discussion. As Schleswig-Holstein’s Education Minister and one of five deputy federal chairpersons of the CDU, Prien weighs in on the campaign strategy. The conversation also touches on whether the CDU’s message has a hint of “Make Germany Great Again” vibes.

Additionally, Rasmus Buchsteiner explains why, despite a planned reduction in the size of the Bundestag following the upcoming elections, each individual MP will somehow gain a larger role.
