Gaza: Mediterranean EU Nations Demand Aid Release

Portorož (Slovenia) – At a joint press conference following the MED9 meeting, Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob emphasized the urgent need for the “immediate release of all humanitarian aid for Gaza.” This year’s summit was held in Portorož, Slovenia, which is serving as the rotating presidency.

Golob stated, “There is absolutely no excuse for anyone to block such humanitarian aid, and we fully expect the Israeli government to open the Rafah crossing and other border points to allow humanitarian aid to reach Gaza.”

The MED9 is also focused on ensuring media access security in the region. Officials from France, Cyprus, Greece, Croatia, Italy, Malta, Slovenia, Spain, and Portugal attended to discuss regional issues, with Jordan’s King Abdullah II participating as well. (October 20, 2025)

  1. Oh, look at that, the Mediterranean bigwigs are at it again, demanding aid like it’s a Christmas wish list 🎄. Can’t wait to see how many “urgent” meetings it takes before anyone actually gets something done! 🤷‍♂️

Oh, brilliant move by the MED9! Because nothing screams “urgent” like a nice chat in Slovenia while the world watches, right? 😂 Guess we’ll just keep waiting for that humanitarian aid to magically float over the border, eh? 🛳️

Oh sure, because a press conference is definitely the magic wand that’ll just open borders and rain aid down like confetti. 🍾 Good luck with that, lads!

Imagine a room full of EU bigwigs, sipping espresso and discussing humanitarian aid like it’s the latest fashion trend. Bravo, gentlemen! Now, if only opening a border was as easy as opening a bottle of wine! 🍷😏

  5. Seems like a lovely game of “pass the parcel” with aid, but let’s hope the only thing getting blocked is our Wi-Fi signal. 🤷‍♂️ What a charming way to spend a Mediterranean afternoon! 😂

Oh sure, because a press conference in a fancy Slovenian resort is definitely the magic wand we need to solve a humanitarian crisis, right? 🥳💼

Sure, because nothing says “urgent humanitarian concern” like a bunch of leaders gathering by the Mediterranean for a nice chat and a few photo ops, right? 🏖️✌️

So, let me get this straight: a bunch of European leaders are holding hands and singing Kumbaya while Gaza waits for a parcel delivery? Classic. 😏✈️

Isn’t it just lovely how our Mediterranean leaders gather to talk about aid while sipping espresso? 🍵 Maybe they think a strong cup of coffee can solve a humanitarian crisis faster than actual action! 😂

  10. Right, because a press conference in a picturesque Slovenian town is surely the magic wand to solve all Gaza’s problems. 🧐 Sounds like a lovely holiday, but I doubt the aid’s on its way anytime soon!

  11. Oh, look at that, the Mediterranean big wigs are playing Santa again—who knew humanitarian aid was the latest hot potato? 🎅 Just hope they don’t trip over their own diplomacy on the way to the Rafah crossing!

Oh sure, because demanding aid in a press conference is definitely going to make all the bad guys just hand it over, right? 🤦‍♂️ Classic EU diplomacy at its finest—maybe next time they’ll just send a strongly worded email! 📧
