Russia Condemns ‘Freaks’ at Time Magazine over Trump-Disliked Cover

Maria Zakharova, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, criticized the magazine cover, calling the photo choice “astonishing” on Telegram as Russia continues to seek favor with Trump. “Only unhealthy people, obsessed with malice and hatred — perhaps even freaks — could have chosen such a photo,” she exclaimed.

Despite some improvement in Moscow-Washington relations since Trump’s second term, facilitated by the Republican leader inviting Russian President Vladimir Putin to peace talks in Alaska in August, the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine remains a sticking point.

The U.S. president appeared on the magazine cover after signing an agreement in Egypt on Monday to end Israel’s two-year war in Gaza. He praised the deal with Hamas as “3,000 years” in the making.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged Trump to help conclude the war in Ukraine, as he had achieved peace in Gaza. “I hope that he will use the same instruments even more to pressure Putin to stop his war,” Zelenskyy told Fox News on Sunday.

Seems like someone in Russia’s foreign ministry has a flair for drama—next they’ll be starring in their own reality show! 🎭 After all, who wouldn’t want a cover photo that’s a real ‘freak’ show, just to spice things up, eh? 😂

Oh, look at Russia throwing shade at Time Magazine like it’s an Olympic sport! 😂 Maybe they think if they squint hard enough, they can actually see their own reflection in the mirror of self-awareness.

Typical! When you’re not busy dodging questions about your own ‘freaks’, I suppose it’s easier to critique a magazine cover, eh? 😉 Maybe next time, they’ll pick a snap from your last family reunion instead!

Seems like Maria’s missed the memo; the only real freak show is the Kremlin’s ongoing love affair with a certain ex-president. 🤷‍♂️ But hey, who needs a photo op when you’ve got a whole circus in your backyard? 🎪

Seems like Maria’s got a knack for art critiques—next, she’ll be judging the winners of the Eurovision Song Contest. 🎨🤷‍♂️ Who knew diplomacy involved such highbrow tastes?

Oh, how charming! Russia calling out “freaks” while they’re busy trying to charm the pants off Trump. Guess it takes one to know one, eh? 😂

  9. Looks like Russia’s got a PhD in irony, eh? 🤔 Calling out “freaks” while juggling wars and peace talks like a circus act – just another day in the geopolitical funhouse! 🎪

Looks like Maria’s got a real knack for spotting “freaks” in the media, just a shame she doesn’t look in her own backyard first! 😂 Maybe next time she’ll critique her own government’s photo ops instead of Time’s covers.

  11. Typical Russia, always ready to throw shade while desperately trying to charm the guy who thinks a peace deal is as easy as pie. 🥧 You’d think they’d have better things to do than critique magazine covers – maybe a bit of self-reflection? 😏

Seems like Maria’s got a knack for spotting ‘freaks’—maybe she should lend her talents to a circus, eh? 🤡 With all this talk of peace, I half-expect her to suggest a group hug next!

Seems like Russia’s not too keen on Time’s artistic flair; maybe they were hoping for a more “sophisticated” cover, like a bear in a tuxedo? 🐻🎩 Ah, the heights of diplomacy!

  15. Seems like the Kremlin has found a new hobby: critiquing magazine covers! Must be nice to have the time, while the rest of us are busy trying to dodge actual ‘freaks’ on the streets. 😂🧐

  16. Seems like Russia’s taking a masterclass in irony from Time—who knew “freaks” could be so fashionable? 😂 Can’t wait for the next cover featuring unicorns and world peace, right?

  17. Fancy that, a Russian official calling anyone a freak! Maybe they should look in the mirror before throwing stones. 😂

Quite rich coming from a country where the only thing more astonishing than their foreign policy is their grasp of reality. But hey, at least they’ve got a flair for drama worthy of a soap opera! 😏💼

Well, isn’t it charming when Russia throws shade at Time? 🤷‍♂️ I suppose they’re just jealous their own covers don’t scream “freak show” quite as loudly. 🥴
