Brussels – The EU court has annulled the EU’s data transfer agreement with the USA twice. However, the recent third attempt has received approval following another court examination.
The ruling issued on Wednesday confirms that “the USA has ensured an adequate level of protection for personal data transferred from the EU,” concerning the latest agreement established in 2023.
Previous agreements on this matter were rejected in 2015 and 2020. In this latest version, the EU successfully negotiated improved safeguards to mitigate the risk of European data misuse.
