Dozens of Russians Deported by US in a Single Day

US authorities deported between 30 and 60 Russian citizens in one day this week, according to Dmitry Valuev, president of the NGO Russian America for Democracy in Russia, as reported by the independent media outlet Agency on August 29. The mass deportation occurred on Wednesday. The Russians were flown to Egypt, where they were met by local services, and then sent on a flight to Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport.

Some Russians attempted to alter their flight plans but were assaulted by Egyptian security forces, Valuev disclosed.

Reasons for US deportation

The deported Russians were either in immigration detention awaiting deportation, had lost asylum rights, or chose to leave the US before a court decision.

The human rights activist mentioned that some deportees fear political persecution in Russia.

The agency noted that a former serviceman accused of desertion was among those deported; he had applied for asylum in the US but was rejected.

Interrogations in Russia

Passengers arriving from Egypt to Moscow underwent lengthy interrogations at the Russian border, Valuev reported. At least one individual was detained, while several others were granted bail.

Vladimir Osechkin, founder of the human rights organization Gulagu.net, brought attention to the mass deportations, noting that the Russians faced a “filtering” system in Moscow with hours-long interrogations, during which some were beaten.

This marks the second mass deportation of Russians from the US this summer, following the deportation of about 40 people in June.

Isn’t it just delightful to see international relations handled like a game of musical chairs? One minute you’re in the US, next you’re off to Egypt for a little vacation—without the holiday package, of course! 😂✈️

  2. Just a casual Wednesday, eh? Who needs a holiday in the sun when you can be whisked off to Egypt for a little “welcome home” party in Moscow instead! 😂✈️

  3. Looks like the US is really embracing the ‘no Russians allowed’ policy – just when you thought deportation was a thing of the past! 😂 Next stop: Moscow, where the welcome committee is called “interrogation central.”

Just what we need, a new tourism campaign: “Come to America, we’ll send you to Egypt instead!” ✈️🤷‍♂️ Clearly, the US is taking “freedom of movement” to a whole new level!

Looks like the US is really going for a new record in deportations – who knew they’d take a page out of the Russian playbook? 😂 Next time, maybe they could at least throw in a complimentary souvenir from Egypt for the ride home! 🏖️✈️

Typical American hospitality, eh? Just when you think the land of the free is running out of ideas, they whip out a deportation spree like it’s a summer sale! 😂✈️

Oh, look at that! The US is not just the land of opportunity anymore; it’s also the express route back to Mother Russia for some lucky folks. Talk about a one-way ticket to the “land of freedom” – hope they packed their snacks! 😂✈️

  8. Oh great, just what the world needed—more Russians on the fast track to Egypt, because nothing says freedom like a layover in a country with its own set of welcoming committees! 😂✈️

Nothing like a good ol’ transcontinental game of musical chairs, eh? 🤷‍♂️ Just when you think you’re safe in the land of the free, the ticket to Egypt shows up—who knew holidays could be so… *educational*? 🇷🇺✈️

  11. Deporting Russians like it’s a new Olympic sport, eh? 🏅 No worries, lads, I’m sure the welcome party in Moscow will be just as charming as the flight over! 😏✈️

Seems like the US is really rolling out the red carpet for our Russian friends… straight to Egypt and then back to Moscow! 😂 Just what every émigré dreams of—a complimentary round trip and a warm welcome from the local authorities!

Seems like the US is really stepping up their “Welcome to America” campaign—who knew it included a complimentary flight to Egypt? ✈️😂
