Putin-Zelenskyy Summit Unlikely, Says Germany’s Merz

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that direct talks between Russia’s Vladimir Putin and Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy are unlikely, even as the Trump administration continues to advocate for a peace agreement.

“Despite the agreement made between President Trump and President Putin last week during our meeting in Washington, a meeting between President Zelenskyy and President Putin is evidently not forthcoming,” Merz told reporters before a dinner with France’s Emmanuel Macron at Fort de Brégançon, the leader’s summer residence.

Earlier this month, Trump announced following a meeting of European leaders at the White House that he had facilitated a meeting between Putin and Zelenskyy. However, Moscow later tempered expectations that such a summit would take place soon.

Oh, brilliant news! Who needs a summit when you can just have a fancy dinner at Macron’s summer house? 🍷💼 Perfect place for peace talks, right? 😂

Oh, brilliant, so we can just sit back and enjoy another episode of “Will They, Won’t They” starring Putin and Zelenskyy—grab your popcorn, it’s bound to be a classic! 🍿✨

  3. Oh, brilliant! Looks like we’ve got more chance of finding a unicorn at Oktoberfest than seeing Putin and Zelenskyy share a table anytime soon. 🍻

Typical, isn’t it? Just when you think the world’s leaders might actually sit down for a chat, it turns out they’re more interested in summer holidays than solving a crisis. 🍷🤷‍♂️

Oh, who needs peace talks when you can have a fancy dinner in a summer residence instead? 🍷 Good to know diplomacy is still alive—just serving it chilled, like fine wine! 😂

  6. Another day, another diplomatic soap opera! 🎭 I suppose we’ll just have to settle for our summer holiday chats instead of world peace talks. 🥳

Seems like we’ll have to wait longer for that summit than for a decent cup of coffee in a Parisian café. ☕️ At this rate, I might as well start charging for my advice on international relations! 😂

Oh great, another summit that’s about as likely as finding a decent cup of tea in Paris. Merz must be sipping something stronger to think this one’s coming together anytime soon. 🍷😏

So, the chances of a Putin-Zelenskyy coffee date are about as likely as me winning the EuroMillions while stuck in traffic—cheers to that! 😂🍷

Looks like the only summit happening is the one for the best excuse to avoid a chat over a nice glass of wine. 🍷 Talk about a diplomatic tightrope! 😂

Just what we needed, another diplomatic dance while the music’s off, eh? 🕺🏻 Let’s hope they don’t trip over their own egos while waiting for this “summit” to materialize.

So, looks like the only summit happening here is Merz’s dinner with Macron. Talk about a diplomatic feast with a side of “not happening”! 🍽️🙄

  13. Oh, brilliant! Just what we need, more diplomatic hot air while our leaders enjoy their summer holidays. 😂 Who knew peace talks could be as elusive as a decent espresso in London? ☕️

So, we’re expecting a summit between Putin and Zelenskyy, eh? Sounds like planning a holiday in the rain—always a bit of a long shot! 😂✨

Just what we need, more talk from the folks in charge! 🌍 Maybe they should schedule a summit over a nice cup of espresso instead? ☕️ #BrilliantPlan
