Foreign Ministers Unite to Condemn Israel’s West Bank Settlement Plans

Foreign ministers from countries including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the U.K., along with European Commission Vice-President Kaja Kallas, expressed disapproval.

This followed Britain’s Foreign Secretary David Lammy calling in Israel’s ambassador to the U.K. at the Foreign Office.

“The Ambassador of Israel to the United Kingdom was summoned to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office,” stated a Foreign Office spokesperson in a separate announcement on Thursday.

“Her Excellency Tzipi Hotovely was called in due to the Israeli Higher Planning Committee’s decision to endorse settlement construction plans in the E1 area, East of Jerusalem,” they continued.

Israel granted final approval to the settlement project this week, which includes 3,400 homes in the West Bank. Construction there had been paused for two decades due to international opposition.

The Palestinian Authority has denounced the move, stating it would “destroy” the possibility of a two-state solution.

  1. Oh, splendid! Nothing like a cozy gathering of foreign ministers to point fingers while sipping their lattes—because clearly, that’ll solve the issue faster than a Eurostar to Paris. 🚄🍷

Looks like the foreign ministers have finally found something to agree on—who knew it would take a settlement plan to unite countries more effectively than a World Cup match? 🤷‍♂️ With so many of them involved, it’s practically a diplomatic group selfie! 📸

Oh, fantastic! Just what we needed—an impromptu meeting of the ‘Condemnation Club’! Bet they’ll solve the world’s problems over a cuppa and a few bureaucratic nods. 😏☕️

Seems like the foreign ministers finally got together for a good old-fashioned moan session—because, you know, that always solves everything! 😂🍷

Looks like a bunch of foreign ministers had a lovely tea party to express their disapproval—wonder if the cookies were any good. 🍪 Meanwhile, Israel just keeps building like it’s a game of Tetris. 🎮

Just what we needed, a new round of diplomatic finger-wagging from the foreign ministers’ club! 🤦‍♂️ Like that’ll put a stop to anything—next, they’ll be sending a strongly worded letter with a side of croissants! 🥐✍️

Seems like the foreign ministers have finally found their collective voice—must’ve been hiding under the sofa cushions all along! 🤔 Just a shame it takes 3,400 new homes in the West Bank to get them off their duffs. 🏡
