“EU4Schools” Initiative: Rebuilding the Kindergarten and Nursery in Rubik, Northern Albania

The Municipality of Mirditë in northern Albania is among the 11 municipalities benefiting from the “EU for Schools” initiative.

In the Rubik Administrative Unit of this municipality, the “EU4Schools” project has enabled the renovation of the kindergarten and nursery “Bleta Punëtore,” introducing hope and advanced standards through modern educational infrastructure.

For approximately two and a half years, this renovated facility has been serving children from Rubik and teaching staff in contemporary environments featuring thermal insulation, efficient electrical and plumbing systems, heating and cooling solutions, fire safety measures, surveillance camera systems, ramps for accessibility, and efficient outdoor lighting, among other amenities.

The “EU4Schools” program is funded by the European Union with a budget of 75 million euros and is executed by UNDP in Albania, in partnership with the Albanian government.

So far, this initiative has successfully completed 61 out of 63 educational facilities across 11 municipalities affected by the 2019 earthquake, positively impacting over 25,000 children, students, and educators. (August 15)

Rebuilding a kindergarten in Rubik? How revolutionary! 🤔 Next, they’ll probably tackle the pressing issue of teaching kids how to use a spoon properly. Bravo, EU! 🥄

Fantastic, just what we need—another shiny building to teach kids how to decipher the complexities of life while we scramble to sort out the basics of adulting. 🙄💼 But hey, at least they’ll have cozy classrooms while we keep dodging the potholes on our way to work!

  5. Looks like the EU’s gone above and beyond to make kindies chic again—who knew thermal insulation was the new black? 😂 Hope the little ones appreciate their five-star facilities while we’re all still waiting for the roads to get a makeover! 🛣️

Blimey, 75 million euros for a kindergarten? I suppose when your main competition is a goat shed, anything looks like the Ritz! 😂
