Trump Called Norwegian Minister to Inquire About Nobel Peace Prize

“We discussed tariffs, economic cooperation, and it served as preparation for his call with Prime Minister Støre. I will not go into further detail about the content of the conversation,” he added.

Trump’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday could be crucial for his Nobel Peace Prize aspirations, as any progress or setback on the Ukraine issue could impact his peacemaking reputation.

Despite varying his stance on the responsibility for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Trump has seemed to adopt a tougher position on Putin recently.

Each year, the Norwegian Nobel Committee chooses laureates from numerous candidates. Its five members are appointed by Norway’s parliament, following the guidelines set by 19th-century Swedish industrialist Alfred Nobel. Winners are announced every October in Oslo.

Several nations, including Israel, Pakistan, and Cambodia, have already nominated Trump for his role in brokering peace deals or ceasefires since his return to office in January.

Trump has taken credit for reducing tensions between nuclear-armed India and Pakistan after earlier skirmishes this year and recently hosted the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington to discuss ending longstanding hostilities.

Just what we need, a Nobel Peace Prize for the man who thinks diplomacy is just a fancy word for shouting louder than the other guy. 🤷‍♂️ Who knew brokering peace was as easy as a call to Norway?

So, Trump’s out there ringing up Norwegians about a shiny Nobel, eh? Next, he’ll be asking the Swedish about their meatballs – because, you know, that’s just as vital for world peace! 😂

Oh, brilliant! Nothing screams “Nobel-worthy” like a call about tariffs and a meeting with Putin—just what Alfred Nobel had in mind, I bet. 🤦‍♂️
