Anderlecht Takes on Sheriff Tiraspol in UEFA Conference League

Anderlecht (Eurotoday) – Anderlecht faces Sheriff Tiraspol on Thursday in the UEFA Conference League. Coach Besnik Hasi aims to reach group stages despite pressure after losing to Häcken. Main players are Dolberg, Vazquez, Bertaccini.

As GVA News reported, Anderlecht will play against Sheriff Tiraspol on Thursday, Aug 7, 2025, in the UEFA Europa Conference League. Sheriff Tiraspol is a football team from Moldova. 4 years ago, they surprised many by beating Real Madrid 2-1 in the Champions League. Even with that win, Sheriff is not seen as a strong team in European football.

In Moldova, they have won the most league titles for many years. But last season, they lost the title to another team called Milsami Orhei. Officials mentioned that Anderlecht is much stronger. 4 Anderlecht players alone are worth more than all the Sheriff players together. Because of this, Anderlecht is expected to win the match.

What challenges does Anderlecht face after Häcken’s loss in the UEFA race?

Anderlecht faces a lot of pressure after losing to Häcken in the Europa League. That loss in Sweden made it harder for them to reach the group stages in Europe this season. Many now doubt if Anderlecht can succeed in continental games. Coach Besnik Hasi knows the team is under stress. He says the poor performance last time has made things tough.

“We want and need to reach that league stage,

says Hasi.

“It wouldn’t be good for us if we didn’t play in the European Championship.”

According to officials, Anderlecht’s coach, Besnik Hasi, will have almost all his players ready for the match against Sheriff Tiraspol. Only Sardella and new player Yasin Ozcan will not be able to play. Huerta recently joined the team and is available, giving Hasi more choices for the squad. Hasi said it is very important that the players stay focused and work together as a team.

Hasi reminded them that putting Anderlecht first is key to doing well. He also said that the team did not have this focus in the last game against Häcken, which made them play poorly. When talking about Stroeykens, Hasi said the young player is still focused and strong in his mind. But for now, Hazard is preferred because he has improved and is playing better.

Anderlecht has several players fighting for places up front. Dolberg, Vazquez, and Bertaccini all want to start. Bertaccini did well as a substitute against Cercle Brugge, but coach Hasi says he still needs time to learn Anderlecht’s style. This season, Anderlecht signed 8 new players. Coach Hasi has many choices for the match against Sheriff Tiraspol.

Anderlecht is one of Belgium’s most famous football clubs with a rich history of success both domestically and in European competitions. Over the years, they have produced many talented players and regularly compete in UEFA tournaments. However, in recent seasons, the club has faced challenges, including inconsistent performances and early exits from European competitions.

Looks like Anderlecht’s got a tough night ahead against Sheriff Tiraspol, or as we like to say here, it’s like a heavyweight match between a lion and a slightly confused kitten. 🐱⚽ Just hope they remember the last time they underestimated someone—Real Madrid won’t let them forget it anytime soon! 🍻

Looks like Anderlecht is gearing up for a real nail-biter against Sheriff Tiraspol. I mean, if they can’t beat a team from Moldova, they might as well start looking for a new hobby… like knitting! 😏⚽️

So, Anderlecht thinks they can just stroll in and slap Sheriff Tiraspol around, eh? Must be nice to have the confidence of a Belgian chocolatier in a world of gummy bears! 🍫😏

Guess Anderlecht’s strategy is to turn the pitch into a catwalk for their overpriced players—who needs a plan when you can just flaunt the price tags, eh? 😂 #ChampionsInTheirOwnRight

  5. Cor blimey, Anderlecht’s taking on Sheriff Tiraspol? Must be a real David vs. Goliath moment, if David had a bigger budget and Goliath was still figuring out which foot to kick with! ⚽️💸

Fancy a stroll down memory lane where Sheriff Tiraspol once made the big boys cry? 😏 Hope Anderlecht remembers how to play football again, or it’ll be a real “whoopsie” moment for them! 🥴

Looks like Anderlecht’s strategy is to just throw a bunch of expensive players at the problem and hope it works. Maybe if they had a few more fancy titles, they wouldn’t be sweating bullets over a team named after a village bakery in Moldova. 😅

Can’t wait to see Anderlecht take on Sheriff Tiraspol—finally, a match that’ll really put the “excite” back in “expected victory”! ⚽️💤

So, Anderlecht thinks they can waltz past Sheriff Tiraspol like a Eurostar train on schedule, eh? Good luck with that, lads – hope you packed your sense of humor along with your boots! 😏⚽

  10. Looks like Anderlecht’s got themselves a real thriller against Sheriff Tiraspol – I mean, who wouldn’t want to watch a team that only gets excited about beating Real Madrid once every four years? 🤔 Just another day in the office for the Belgians, eh? 🍻

So, Anderlecht is going to take on Sheriff Tiraspol, eh? Because nothing screams “European football royalty” like beating a team from Moldova with more league titles than fans. 😏⚽️

Looks like Anderlecht is about to show Sheriff Tiraspol that “surprise” wins are best left to birthday parties. 🎉 With a squad worth more than a Moldovan village, it should be a walk in the park—assuming they remember how to play football and not just pass the time! 😅

Looks like Anderlecht’s got a real “Sheriff” on their hands this time; hope they remember which side of the pitch to play on! ⚽️🤷‍♂️

Looks like Anderlecht’s got a date with destiny, or should I say, a ‘friendly’ chat with Sheriff Tiraspol. Maybe they’ll finally show us that beating Häcken was just a warm-up for the main act. 🤷‍♂️💼
