Banja Luka (Fena) – The President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, described the Appellate Chamber of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s ruling, which sentenced him to one year in prison and imposed a six-year ban on holding public office, as politically motivated and an attack on the Republic of Srpska.
– The BiH Court operates as a political entity, and this judgment reflects the political agenda of Sarajevo and Muslim political groups. The intent is to marginalize the Serbian political influence in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Dodik stated at a press conference.
Dodik specifically accused the European Union of orchestrating the ruling. – This decision was orchestrated by the EU, particularly under the leadership of the head of the Delegation in BiH, Luigi Soreca, and the Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos. Following a lack of action from the American ambassador Michael Murphy, the EU stepped in. They sought any form of success amidst the EU’s inability to demonstrate effective influence – Dodik remarked.
Despite the prohibition from serving as President of RS, Dodik maintains that he is still the president of SNSD and hinted at a potential political resurgence following the expiration of the ban. He expressed respect for the National Assembly of RS’s decisions and requested support from Serbia and Russia, while also indicating plans to reach out to the new American administration.
** No weapons will be fired. The greatest strength lies in unity – he emphasized, reiterating his view that High Representative Christian Schmidt is illegitimate, labeling him as “the source of disorder in BiH”. (1.8.)
