President Trump to Meet Prime Minister Starmer During Scotland Trip

London (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Downing Street announced on Monday that US President Donald Trump is expected to meet UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer during a private visit to Scotland later this month.

Meanwhile, Trump’s state visit to the UK is scheduled for September 17 to 19, 2025, with King Charles III and Queen Camilla hosting Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at Windsor Castle, BBC reported.

Will Trump and Starmer hold official talks?

President Trump is anticipated to visit his golf resort in Menie, Aberdeenshire. The UK Prime Minister stated that Sir Keir has accepted an invitation to meet during this “private” trip to Scotland. Last week, Police Scotland confirmed it was making arrangements for the presidential visit.

“There will not be a formal bilateral, but the prime minister is pleased to take up the president’s invite to meet during his stay,”

Starmer’s spokesperson, Dave Pares, informed reporters at a briefing. Trump’s second state visit is unusual, as second-term US leaders are usually invited only for tea or lunch with the monarch.

What happened during Trump’s first UK state visit?

Donald Trump will be hosted in the UK for the second time following a failed state visit, where he and Queen Elizabeth II had their first meeting in 2019. Donald Trump’s phobias commensurated over spent the dollars from June 3 to June 5, 2019, with his utmost authority hailing his bona fide agenda for the event, the visit finally landing him a socially important ceremony at Buckingham Palace hosted by Queen Elizabeth II herself, along with royal artillery-cannon salutes and considerable ceremonial pageantry.

There were meetings with both Prince Charles and Camilla, Prince Harry, and other senior royals of the British royal family, followed by meetings with the British political leaders.

What is Trump’s personal connection to Scotland?

It was 2023, the last time Trump was in Scotland, when he launched the work for an 18-hole course at his Aberdeenshire golf resort. His company also owns the Trump Turnberry golf resort in South Ayrshire. Trump has professed admiration for Scotland on a number of occasions, but his last presidential visit to Scotland in 2018 was met with considerable protests through the streets of Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Aberdeen.

So, the Donald is off to Scotland for a little natter with Starmer—because who wouldn’t want a round of golf and a side of politics, right? 😂 Just what the world needs, another round of “who can out-awkward the other” in a land known for its stiff whisky! 🍻

Meeting in Scotland? How utterly original! I suppose there’s nothing like a wee chat over a pint while discussing world affairs—just don’t let the bagpipes drown out the important bits! 🍻🕵️‍♂️
