Slovenia Achieves Success in European CEF Call with Ten Projects

Brussels – The European Commission has approved 94 infrastructure projects for co-financing through EU grants from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). Among the selected initiatives, ten are from Slovenia, including the construction of the second railway track from Divača to Koper, which will receive 156 million euros in funding.

This funding call aimed to enhance standards for the trans-European transport network TEN-T, covering railway, port, and partially road infrastructure, as well as multimodal platforms and river navigation routes. The European Commission will provide over 167 million euros in grants for the implementation of the ten projects in Slovenia.

“This will support our ongoing efforts to upgrade and modernize transport infrastructure, facilitating better connectivity with the rest of Europe,” stated the Slovenian Ministry of Infrastructure.

For the two projects by 2TDK related to the second railway track Divača – Koper, which involve equipping the track and electrical systems, as well as implementing the European railway traffic management system, the European Commission will allocate a total of 156.1 million euros. The EU funding is a significant financial boost for the nearly one billion euro project, ensuring its quality, modern, and technologically advanced execution, as expressed by 2TDK. (July 3)
