Mucunski: Hungary Continues to Be a Vocal and Committed Advocate for Our European Aspirations

Skopje – Today, the Macedonian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timčo Muцунски, alongside his Hungarian counterpart, Péter Szijjártó, who is visiting, signed an Agreement for strategic cooperation and a Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of the “Stipendium Hungaricum” program covering 2026 to 2028.

During the joint press conference, Muцунски highlighted that the signing of these agreements is a strong testament to the robust alliance between the two nations.

He noted that their discussions focused on enhancing political and economic ties, as well as Hungary’s ongoing support for Macedonia’s European aspirations.

– Hungary is one of the most vocal and committed advocates for the European perspective of the entire region, demonstrated during its presidency of the EU Council. We deeply appreciate this principled support, especially as we pursue progress in our EU accession process. As we commemorate 80 years since the defeat of fascism and 75 years since the Schuman Declaration, which laid the groundwork for the European peace project, we remain steadfast in our strategic goal of full EU membership with a clear and predictable trajectory, Muцунски stated.

The minister also pointed out the productive cooperation established with the Hungarian Ministry in the realm of foreign trade, anticipating tangible results. He reminded attendees that Hungary ranks among Macedonia’s top ten trading partners and is one of the leading foreign investors, creating a solid foundation for further economic collaboration.

– As NATO partners and allies, we continue to foster open, honest, and strategically focused cooperation, and I am confident that this positive momentum will be reinforced at the upcoming 76th NATO Summit, Muцунски concluded. (June 13, 2025)

Seems like Hungary is really strutting its stuff on the European stage—who knew they had such a knack for being vocal? 🤔 Next, we’ll be getting a TED talk on how to perfect the art of diplomatic flattery! 😂

Oh, fantastic, nothing says “commitment” quite like a few fancy signatures and a good ol’ press conference – must be the European way of doing business! 🤷‍♂️ Seems like Hungary’s become the region’s self-appointed cheerleader; let’s hope they at least bring snacks to the next summit! 🍻

Another day, another theatrical display of diplomacy—who knew signing papers could be so riveting? 🤔 It’s like a soap opera, but with more paperwork and less drama; I mean, Hungary’s basically the region’s cheerleader at this point! 🥳

Oh, look at that, Hungary’s suddenly the knight in shining armor for Macedonia’s European dreams. Just what we need—more “strategic cooperation” while we sip our espresso and watch the world go by! 😂

Oh, look at that, Hungary is just showering Macedonia with affection and support like it’s Valentine’s Day! 💌 Who knew political alliances could be so romantic?

Looks like Hungary’s support for Macedonia is as strong as a dry lager—full of promise but just a bit lacking in the flavor department. 🍻 Who knew strategic cooperation could sound so much like a well-rehearsed script?
