“Transforming Narratives – Shaping the Future: BE Empowers Journalists and Directors in Albania to Share Impactful Stories”

The “Breaking the Moulds – Shaping the Future” event took place at the House of Europe in Tirana, featuring the European Union ambassador to Albania, Silvio Gonzato, alongside prominent journalists and directors from the country.

The venue transformed into a cinema, showcasing powerful and previously untold stories. These narratives, presented through short films, addressed significant issues such as human trafficking, the overlooked resistance of women during dictatorship, and ongoing struggles against stereotypes.

These creations, developed by talented youth under the EU-funded initiative “Breaking the Moulds – Shaping the Future,” aim to denounce injustice, celebrate bravery, and advocate for an inclusive and ethical media landscape in Albania.

Gonzato expressed pride in the EU’s support for young journalists and directors, emphasizing how their stories are instrumental in reshaping the narrative around women both in media and society. He encouraged them to continue their creative efforts, challenge norms, and support one another, assuring that the EU will remain a steadfast ally.

This event, supported by the European Union, was organized in partnership with ‘Albanian Women in Audiovisual’ and SCiDEV, who have provided training, mentorship, and guidance throughout the filmmaking process. (June 11)

Transforming narratives, eh? Sounds like another excuse for a fancy soirée – bet the popcorn was organic and the stories were as riveting as watching paint dry! 🎬🍿

Oh, fantastic! Nothing says “we care” quite like showcasing impactful stories in a cinema while sipping espresso in Tirana. Can’t wait to see how these films “reshape narratives”—hopefully, they come with subtitles for those of us still trying to decipher the local dialect! 🍿🎬

Ah, just what Albania needed—a cinematic revolution to tackle human trafficking and dictatorship! Because nothing says “impactful storytelling” quite like a short film in a fancy venue, right? 🎬🙄

Oh, look at that, a bunch of young talents playing Spielberg in Tirana while the EU throws around cash like confetti. 🥳 Who knew storytelling could be such a profitable gig?

Seems like the EU is really flexing its muscles in Albania—who knew cinema could fix all of society’s woes? 🎬 Next, maybe they’ll fund a film on the art of ‘actually listening’! 😂

Oh, how lovely! An event to showcase powerful stories in a cinema setting—exactly what Albania needed, because who doesn’t love a dramatic reenactment of human trafficking? 🎬🙄 Bravo, EU, for turning the spotlight on the real issues, right after deciding which wine to serve at the gala! 🍷

Seems like the EU’s got a new hobby: turning Tirana into the Hollywood of the Balkans. 🎬 Next stop, Oscars for the best short film on human trafficking—can’t wait to see the red carpet! 😏

  9. Oh, splendid! Nothing says “shaping the future” like a room full of journalists and directors showcasing tales of woe in a cinema – I guess the real blockbuster was how much funding it took to make that all happen! 🎬🙄
