Matović: Fico should focus on western EU countries that invest in us

Bratislava – Robert Fico, the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic from Smer-SD, should prioritize his working visits to Western European nations and EU countries that hold significant economic importance for Slovakia. This assertion was made on Sunday by former Prime Minister and leader of the Slovakia movement, Igor Matovič, following the announcement of Fico’s delegation’s working visits to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, where he aims to enhance bilateral relations, according to TASR.

“It would be wise to undertake courtesy visits to Germany, France, and other EU nations that contribute the most to our foreign investments and employ tens of thousands of Slovak workers, significantly aiding in improving our living standards,” Matovič remarked regarding Fico’s proposed plans, expressing concern that Slovakia risks losing investments from these countries.

“The Prime Minister should have traveled to Germany to inquire why Volkswagen has scrapped a substantial investment in small electric car production in Bratislava. It is well-known that this decision is linked to the transaction tax and rising fees,” Matovič asserted.

Matovič also indicated that seeking to enhance bilateral relations with countries outside the EU stems from Fico’s diminished credibility in Europe, which has led to a lack of interest in engaging with him.

On Sunday, Fico, accompanied by a delegation of ministers and entrepreneurs, began an official visit to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, announcing that the primary aim of this trip is to strengthen economic and bilateral ties between Slovakia and these nations, particularly in the defense sector. Seems like Fico’s off on a “road trip” to places that really need our help—because who wouldn’t want to build ties with countries that can’t even pronounce “Slovakia”? 😂 Maybe next he can try a holiday in the Bermuda Triangle for some real “investment opportunities”!

Looks like Fico’s off on a little jaunt to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan while the EU’s waiting with open wallets. Maybe he thinks a chat with the locals will fix the mess he’s made back home—good luck with that! 😂💼
