Al-Awda Hospital reported receiving the body of a 42-year-old man along with 29 others injured near a GHF aid distribution location. The military acknowledged firing warning shots but stated no casualties were observed.
A GHF spokesperson assured the AP that no violence occurred at its distribution sites.
According to media sources quoting local health authorities and eyewitnesses, at least 31 people died, and over 150 were injured last Sunday when civilians heading to a Gaza aid center came under fire.
The situations underscore the ongoing complications in delivering aid to Gaza, even after Israel’s recent agreement to ease a prolonged blockade.
Despite leading the coordination of humanitarian aid, the U.S. and Israeli-supported GHF has been critiqued by UN officials, who claim its operations have spurred the forced displacement of Palestinians in Gaza.
