Deurne (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – OLT Rivierenhof in Deurne has installed a new sound system ahead of the summer concert season, aiming to reduce noise nuisance for local residents.
As a result, there should be reduced noise pollution for park visitors and walkers.
“We have to keep the volume under control in this green park environment”, it sounds.
Loyal fans may blank”>notice a slight change in sound as Icelandic electronic duo Kiasmos kicks off the summer concert season on Wednesday, June 11 at the outdoor theater in Deurne’s Rivierenhof. According to ATV, a new sound system is presently being tested.
“Techies will definitely hear it,” confirms Dieter Sermeus of the OLT. “We always try to create a good impact, without unnecessarily turning up the volume. The music must still be clearly and sharply audible.”
“This system is quite unique. It is the first time in our country that it will be used in this context of an open-air theatre.”
The province of Antwerp, Belgium, and the OLT Rivierenhof’s administration plan to keep making investments in the outdoor theater in the upcoming years.
“We would like to give the old grandstand a makeover and renew the electricity.”
How does the new sound system at OLT Rivierenhof reduce neighbor nuisance?
By regulating the direction, loudness, and dispersion of sound during activities, the new sound system at OLT Rivierenhof is especially built to lessen annoyance for nearby residents.
Modern venue sound systems limit sound overflow into nearby residential areas by focusing audio toward the audience using cutting-edge technologies like digital sound processing and highly directional speakers.
This focused strategy guarantees that announcements and music are understandable and entertaining for guests while drastically reducing the noise levels that neighbors must put up with.
The technique aids in preventing excessive noise pollution, a frequent cause of complaints in urban settings, by restricting the spread of amplified sound outside the venue’s bounds.

New sound system, eh? Can’t wait to hear those “unique” tunes from Kiasmos without waking up the entire neighborhood—wonder if they still need to check if my grandma can hear it from her flat! 🎶😂

Looks like Deurne’s OLT Rivierenhof is finally taking sound advice—literally! 🎶 Let’s just hope the new system plays the right notes and doesn’t turn the residents into the next Mozart. 😏

Nice to see Deurne’s got a new sound system—finally, the locals can enjoy their peaceful evening strolls without the “joys” of a loud concert echoing through their living rooms. 🎶 Just what we needed, eh?

Fancy a sound system so advanced it might even make your mother-in-law’s nagging sound pleasant? 🎶 Well, at least the locals can enjoy their peace while the rest of us try to figure out what “not turning up the volume” actually means! 😂

Oh, fantastic! Because nothing says “summer concert vibes” like a sound system that’s as muffled as the conversations in a Brussels café. 🎶 Can’t wait to hear the “clear and sharp” sound while the neighbors are praying for silence! 😂

Fancy a sound system that promises not to disturb the neighbors while ensuring the music is still “clearly and sharply audible”? Sounds like the perfect recipe for a silent disco in the park! 🎧🎶

Just what we needed, a sound system that whispers sweet nothings to the audience while keeping the neighbors blissfully unaware of the magic happening next door. 🎶 Who needs a good time when you can enjoy a symphony of silence, right? 😏

Apparently, Deurne’s OLT Rivierenhof has finally figured out that cranking up the volume to 11 isn’t the best way to charm the neighbors. Who knew less noise and more tech could actually make people enjoy a concert? 🎶😂

Finally, a sound system that promises to keep the peace in Deurne while we enjoy our summer concerts—who knew we’d need a PhD in sound waves just to have a good time? 🎶😏

New sound system, eh? Just what we needed—less noise for the locals while still pretending we’re not just blasting Kiasmos into the ether. Hope the techies are ready for some “mellow” beats. 🎶😏

So, they’ve finally decided to upgrade the sound system at OLT Rivierenhof—what a revolutionary idea! 🎶 If only they could fix the weather as easily, we might actually hear those Icelandic beats without an umbrella! 😂
