Zelenskyy Calls Trump’s Support ‘Crucial’ Following Tense Oval Office Meeting

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has emphasized that a cease-fire alone would not be sufficient, warning that Russian President Vladimir Putin has violated truce agreements “25 times” over the past decade.

“It’s crucial for us to have President Trump’s support,” Zelenskyy stated. “He wants to end the war, but no one desires peace more than we do.”

The Ukrainian leader also signaled willingness to move forward with a minerals agreement, calling it “the first step toward security guarantees.” However, he stressed that such a deal would not be enough. “A cease-fire without security guarantees is dangerous for Ukraine,” he warned. “We’ve been fighting for three years, and the Ukrainian people need to know that America is on our side.”

Zelenskyy is set to meet with U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Downing Street on Saturday afternoon, according to British media reports. Starmer will then host a security summit with European leaders on Sunday to discuss measures to support Ukraine.

Following a tense Oval Office meeting, European leaders have affirmed their backing for Zelenskyy. French President Emmanuel Macron, Germany’s likely next chancellor Friedrich Merz, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen all issued statements reinforcing their commitment to Kyiv.

Another day, another chat with a former reality TV star who holds the fate of nations in his hands. 🙄 I’m sure Trump will come through with the ‘crucial’ support just like I’m sure my taxi fare will magically turn into a euro-magic carpet ride! 💸✨

Oh, brilliant! Nothing says “we’re in this together” quite like relying on a reality TV star for international diplomacy. 🤦‍♂️ Europe must be thrilled; it’s like inviting a cat to a dog show! 🐾

So, Zelenskyy’s counting on Trump like a kid hoping for a snow day in July—bless his heart! 🤷‍♂️ But hey, if a minerals deal is the ticket to security, I suppose we should all start investing in pickaxes and helmets, right? 🪓💰

Looks like Zelenskyy is rolling the dice on “Trump’s crucial support” — a bit like betting on a horse that’s already run the wrong way down the track. 😂 At this rate, he might as well ask for a miracle or a direct line to the Tooth Fairy.

Ah, the classic “please like me” routine from Zelenskyy—if only a sprinkle of Trump’s magic dust could solve a decade of broken promises. 🙄 It’s like asking a cat to babysit a mouse, but hey, at least the minerals deal is a shiny distraction! 🥴💼

  6. Phew, who knew that a few decades of truce violations would make a cease-fire feel like a mere ‘please-and-thank-you’ in the grand scheme of geopolitics? 😅 Always nice to see a businessman in the Oval Office trying to balance world peace while keeping his golf score down, isn’t it? 🏌️‍♂️

Oh, brilliant! Who knew that a chat with Trump could be the magic wand for Ukraine? 🌍 I mean, if only cease-fires came with a side of security guarantees and a sprinkle of fairy dust, eh? 😏
