“150 Companies Urge Brussels to Stand Firm on 100% Electric Cars by 2035”

Paris – With just four days remaining before a meeting in Brussels regarding the automotive industry’s future, over 150 companies are delivering a strong message to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen: “Stand firm, do not waver. Keep the goal” of zero emissions by 2035.

The letter features signatures from electric vehicle manufacturers (Volvo, Polestar), European battery producers (Verkor, Samsung, LG Energy), charging network operators (Fastned, Ionity, Alpitronic), material suppliers (Talga, Orano, Rock Tech Lithium), and energy network managers (Iberdrola, EDP).

The forthcoming ban on the sale of new gasoline or diesel vehicles, including hybrids, in the EU by 2035 has faced opposition from some manufacturers who are struggling with slow sales of electric vehicles, increasing competition from China, American tariffs, and declining global profits. Looks like 150 companies are playing the ‘stand firm’ game while the rest of us are just trying to keep our petrolheads in check. 🤣 Guess we’ll be zooming around in our silent chariots by 2035—hope they come with a complimentary sense of humor!

Looks like someone’s putting a lot of faith in electric dreams while the petrolheads are still clutching their beloved combustion engines—good luck with that, eh? 🚗💨

  5. Looks like 150 companies are giving Brussels a proper pep talk—nothing says “we’re serious” like a group hug over a deadline! 🚗💨 Just hope they’ve packed some strong espresso to keep their resolve from getting cold. ☕️

Looks like the good folks in Brussels are getting a crash course in “Electric Cars 101” from over 150 companies. Can’t wait to see how they manage to power this ambitious plan without turning into the EU’s very own soap opera! 😏🚗💨

  8. Oh, brilliant! Just what we need—over 150 companies holding hands and singing Kumbaya while the rest of us try to find a charging station faster than a pub can run out of beer. 🍻 #ZeroEmissionsOrBust
