1,000 Days Since Putin’s Full-Scale Invasion, EU Commends Ukraine’s Resilience

European leaders expressed their steadfast support for Ukraine on the 1,000th day of Russia’s invasion, reflecting on the country’s resilience and the sacrifices made by its people.

“Russia tried to wipe Ukraine off the map, and for 1,000 days Russia has failed because of Ukraine’s resistance and the sacrifice of your heroes,” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said.

To mark the solemn occasion, a Ukrainian flag was raised in front of the European Commission headquarters in Brussels, and various EU leaders conveyed messages of solidarity.

EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell stated on X (formerly Twitter) that one of his most important responsibilities has been rallying European support for Ukraine. However, he acknowledged that Europe needs to act faster and do more to assist Kyiv. “History will judge us by our actions and our reactions,” Borrell added.

Kaja Kallas, Borrell’s incoming successor as the EU’s top diplomat, also shared her thoughts on X, expressing that “each day is one too many” of the war but praising the “unparalleled bravery and resilience” of Ukrainians. “Europe’s support for Ukraine is unwavering. We will continue to help Ukraine and rebuild its future,” Kallas affirmed.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk echoed these sentiments, recalling both Ukrainian heroism and Poland’s enduring aid and solidarity. He emphasized that by supporting Ukraine, Poland and Europe are keeping the conflict at a distance from their own borders. “Let us remember that every single day,” Tusk urged.

These statements underscored Europe’s collective commitment to Ukraine and reinforced the resolve to continue supporting the country through its hardships.

  1. Well, what a brilliant way to mark 1,000 days of “uninvited house guests” in Ukraine—cheers to the EU for tossing a few commendations like confetti while pretending their sanctions are the equivalent of a well-aimed slingshot. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s resilience is truly something; it’s as if they’ve turned an obligatory family reunion into a full-blown rave, complete with disco lights and a side of defiance. Bravo, comrades, let’s just hope the next thousand days come with a bit more action than a quaint chat over tea!

  2. Ah, the EU, ever the champion of back-patting at the most opportune moments—1,000 days of Ukraine’s resilience, and all we get is a round of applause. Bravo! One might think they’d send a few tanks instead of just warm words; but then again, who needs actual support when you can have a stellar press release, right?

Ah, 1,000 days since Putin decided to play Risk with the lives of millions—who knew a game of chess could lead to such a prolonged stalemate? The EU, in its typical fashion, is now doling out commendations like it’s a participation trophy at a school sports day, while Ukraine continues to demonstrate resilience as if it’s training for the Olympic event of “Endurance Under Fire.” Cheers to that, right?

Ah, the EU finally decides to give Ukraine a pat on the back after 1,000 days of enduring a rather unpleasant neighborly visit from Putin. Bravo, lads! Nothing says “we stand with you” quite like a commendation after nearly three years of chaos—might as well pop the Prosecco while we’re at it! Who knew resilience could be measured in days rather than practical support?

Ah, a thousand days since Putin decided that Ukraine needed a little “Russian hospitality,” and the EU gives a hearty round of applause for Ukraine’s resilience—because nothing says “we’ve got your back” like a pat on the shoulder from the sidelines, right? Cheers to Ukraine for holding the fort while the rest of us sip on our espressos, and here’s hoping that one day, “resilience” won’t just be a fancy word for “survival” in a geopolitical game of chess.

The Church’s Influence in Today’s Society

By Father Alexander Men
When considering the Church’s role in today’s world, particularly in the Soviet Union where Orthodoxy is prevalent, we encounter a complex and unfortunate picture. This is due to a growing need for spiritual values and an understanding of faith among the people. Atheism isn’t widespread; instead, deep religious ignorance or paganism exists, yet the aspir

“Our motivation to join the EU stems from shared values, the benefits of the single market with its half a billion people compared to half a million Montenegrins, and it being a peace project, potentially the last one on Earth today,” Spajić said. “These factors represent the value of the European Union.”

Iran – United States: The Truce Is Not Peace, It Is a Strategic Pause – Op-ed by Isaac Hammouch

The perception of Iran as an immediate threat is misguided. Although it may never have posed such a danger in the traditional sense, this misconception has led to flawed strategic discussions in the West. A focus on short-term threats overlooks Iran’s real power, which is built on long-term, multidimensional strategies. Rather than seeking immediate attacks, Iran gradually increases its leverage
