For the third consecutive year, the European Commission’s young journalists’ program “Youth4Regions” brought participants to the European Newsroom. On October 16, 46 young journalists from 33 countries learned about the purpose and operations of the enr, as well as the benefits it provides to both agencies and the European public.
The discussion was held at the headquarters of Belga, a partner agency of the enr. This marked the sixth day of the participants’ stay in Brussels, part of EURegionsWeek 2025, during which they also visited various EU institutions and media organizations, including Euronews.
The young journalists hailed from EU member states, candidate countries, and beyond, including Armenia, Israel, Tunisia, the United Kingdom, and the Palestinian Territories.
Tim Kohnen and Christian Röwekamp provided insights into the philosophy, tasks, working methods, and content of the European Newsroom, responding to numerous questions from the attendees.

Since its inception in 2017, the Youth4Regions program has helped over 250 young journalists enhance their skills, expand their networks, and gain valuable insights into EU journalism.
