The Kremlin has expressed concern over the U.S. decision to permit Ukraine to use American missiles against Russian targets, calling it a “new round of tension” in the ongoing conflict. This announcement comes as tensions escalate further following a pivotal move by Russian President Vladimir Putin. On Tuesday, Putin signed an updated national nuclear doctrine that broadens the conditions under which Moscow could deploy nuclear weapons, potentially lowering the threshold for a strike on NATO countries.
In response to this evolving situation, UK government minister Peter Kyle addressed concerns about whether Britain might take similar measures. He emphasized that the British government is keeping a close watch on developments, stating, “We have very good relationships with the government in Kyiv and with the United States. We will do everything we can to keep British citizens safe.”
