Record-Breaking Attendance at the Church of Scientology Denmark on Culture Night
COPENHAGEN – KINGNEWSWIRE // Press Release //
The Church of Scientology Denmark, located in the historic heart of Copenhagen on Nytorv, is a popular destination for those seeking information through lectures, open house events, guided tours, and the Church’s permanent exhibition. However, this year’s Culture Night on October 11 set a new attendance record, with over 1,900 visitors in just six hours.
A Night of Curiosity and Discovery
Throughout the evening, guests explored the Church’s information center, engaged in discussions with members, took guided tours, participated in stress tests, or simply walked around to satisfy their curiosity about what happens inside the Church of Scientology. According to a visitor survey, 92% found the experience educational, engaging, and informative.
One attendee shared, “Thank you for opening the doors. It was fascinating to be shown around and speak with someone who has been part of this for more than 25 years.” Another visitor added, “I was pleasantly surprised by how professional, well-organized, and beautiful everything is. We’re so happy we decided to come in—it was a completely new and positive experience.”
60 Years of Scientology in Denmark
Celebrating its 60th anniversary in Denmark, the Church of Scientology has actively welcomed visitors to its premises on Nytorv since relocating there in 2017. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., the Church has hosted thousands of visitors, including over 6,500 individuals who have attended free, pre-booked two-hour lectures and tours, popular among high school groups, university students, and cultural associations.
Additionally, the Church has organized numerous Open House events on socially relevant topics, as well as Open Stage Art Nights that provide a platform for emerging artists to perform.
Growing Interest in Scientology
To accommodate increasing curiosity, the Church began offering weekly introductory lectures this past summer, which continue to attract large audiences. These sessions, held in the main chapel accessible from Nytorv, frequently reach full capacity. Popular lecture topics include “The Subconscious Mind’s Influence on You” and “Have You Lived Before This Life?”
Many of these lectures are conducted by Mikkel Jørck, the Church’s daily leader and a third-generation Scientologist. His grandfather, Knud Jørck, was a pioneer in bringing Scientology to Denmark after discovering L. Ron Hubbard’s writings in England.
“I have no doubt that my father and grandfather would be thrilled to see the continued enthusiasm for L. Ron Hubbard’s groundbreaking discoveries and effective methods,” said Mikkel Jørck. “It’s an honor to carry on their legacy, and I find it incredibly rewarding to introduce Dianetics and Scientology to those learning about it for the first time.”
Beyond informational events, the Church also holds regular religious services, including weddings, naming ceremonies, and funerals.
With increasing public interest and participation, the Church of Scientology Denmark continues to serve as a hub for learning, exploration, and spiritual discovery.
