Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is set to attend a Group of Seven summit later this month in France, according to three officials familiar with the invitation plans.
Zelenskyy is anticipated to join leaders from France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States at the G7 summit in Évian-les-Bains, as per the officials who requested anonymity to discuss the preparations for the event.
The Ukrainian President aims to address war diplomacy and air defense strategies to counter Russian ballistic missile attacks, one of the officials noted.
In March, a French presidential adviser mentioned that Zelenskyy had not been invited to the June 15-17 summit.
A spokesperson for France’s Elysée presidential palace, organizing the G7 meeting, did not respond to a request for comment on Tuesday.
