Ukraine: European Leaders Join Zelensky in Washington on Monday

Paris (France) – On Monday, French President Emmanuel Macron will visit Washington, joining other European leaders to support Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his discussions with Donald Trump.

Confirmed attendees include European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, and NATO Chief Mark Rutte.

On Sunday, the “coalition of volunteers,” which consists of key supporters of Kiev, prominent European nations, the EU, NATO, and countries like Canada, deliberated on the potential framework for a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia.

This meeting in Washington with American President Donald Trump marks the first of its kind since the onset of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, resulting from extensive diplomatic negotiations.

Looks like the European leaders are off to Washington for a grand “let’s pretend we have a plan” meeting. Can’t wait to see how many times they raise their glasses to “solidarity” while hoping someone else does the heavy lifting! 🍷😏
