Ukraine Claims Successful Drone Attack on Multiple Russian Bombers

SBU chief Vasyl Malyuk “personally curated the operation,” an official informed POLITICO, speaking anonymously to discuss military operations.

“Thanks to Malyuk, Russia now understands the true meaning of demilitarization,” the official stated.

The official provided a video showing Russian bombers burning at an airfield, which could not be independently verified. Russian authorities have not made any official statements regarding the drone attacks.

“Today will later be called the dark day of Russia’s long-range aviation,” said Russian military aviation blogger Ilya Tumanov, known as Fighterbomber, in a Telegram post. “And the day is not over yet.”

The SBU official explained that for the operation, named “Pavutyna” (web), Ukrainian operatives delivered FPV drones into Russian territory using mobile wooden housings.

“Later, in Russia, the drones were concealed under the roofs of the housings placed on trucks. At the right moment, the roofs were remotely opened, and the drones flew out to strike the Russian bombers,” noted the official.

Just when you thought flying under the radar was a myth, the Ukrainians prove it’s more of a “fly over your enemy’s base” situation. Bravo, Malyuk! 🎉 Who needs a front line when you’ve got a wooden truck?
