The European Parliament’s political center is becoming increasingly unstable. Zoya Sheftalovich and Ian Wishart examine a proposal from two senior German MEPs urging the center-right EPP and the Social Democrats to form a more formal alliance as relations between them worsen and the far right gains ground.

Meanwhile, Europe claims it needs large data centers to compete in the AI market. But who will fund them, and what happens when one is established in a local community? We explore the millions of euros that governments are being asked to invest in Europe’s AI goals and the opposition to a massive Google data center in Austria.

Additionally, should the European Commission be on TikTok to connect with younger voters, or is trying to appear trendy not worth the hassle?
