The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in Britain announced intentions on Sunday to charge Andrew Tate, 39, with new accusations of rape, alongside charges of sexual exploitation trafficking, assault, indecent images of a child, and extreme pornography. His brother, Tristan Tate, 38, faces new charges of rape, sexual assault, and trafficking for sexual exploitation.
These 38 new charges add to the existing 21 charges against the brothers in Britain, involving seven alleged victims for offenses purportedly occurring between July 2010 and August 2017, the CPS stated.
“They have been arrested and await extradition proceedings to the U.K.,” Malcolm McHaffie, head of the Special Crime Division at the CPS, said.
A spokesperson from the U.S. Justice Department stated that the arrests were under standard extradition procedures. “U.S. Marshals in the Southern District of Florida detained Andrew and Tristan Tate for extradition proceedings,” the spokesperson announced Saturday, indicating adherence to treaty and enforcement agreements.
The arrest warrant remains sealed, with the Tates anticipated to appear in Florida court early next week, according to a source in law enforcement.
After relocating to Romania in 2016 and their arrest in 2022 concerning another sexual exploitation inquiry, the Tates traveled to the U.S. after a Romanian travel ban was lifted last year.
The brothers, former kickboxers with both U.S. and British citizenship, gained fame from promoting an opulent lifestyle and discussing masculinity and wealth. Andrew Tate has identified as a misogynist, and both deny the allegations leveled against them.
