Slovenia Achieves Success in the Creative Europe Program Initiative

Ljubljana – Slovenian organizations have achieved significant success in the 2024 culture call for European cooperation projects under the Creative Europe program. Out of 159 projects that received support, 35 are associated with 30 Slovenian initiatives—some of which have multiple entries—accounting for nearly 20% of the total funding. This announcement was made on Friday by the Motovila organization, which operates as the Creative Europe Center in Slovenia.

Notably, eleven Slovenian organizations will serve as consortium leaders, ranking Slovenia third among the 40 countries involved. The selected projects will facilitate an impressive 137 international partnerships with collaborators from 33 European nations, with the highest number of connections to Italy (13), Serbia (10), and Poland (9).

Slovenian entities will receive approximately €3.8 million in support from the EU, with project leaders in Slovenia awarded €1.6 million. This funding represents 6.3% of the total allocated resources. The backed organizations are predominantly non-governmental and public, along with three companies and a private higher education institution scattered across Slovenia.

When compared to the previous year, there has been a marked increase in projects led by Slovenian organizations. The 2023 call included just four projects, whereas the 2024 call features eleven. Additionally, Slovenian organizations have secured a higher overall funding total, rising from around €2.3 million in 2023 to €3.8 million in 2024. (April 25)

Slovenia snagging almost 20% of the Creative Europe pie? Bravo, must’ve been the charm of their charmingly quaint capital—where the cafés are as plentiful as the bureaucratic paperwork! 🍵✍️ Who knew creativity was just a matter of a few well-placed EU euros? 💸😏
