Russia Praises US Foreign Policy for Aligning with Moscow’s Perspective

The Kremlin on Sunday welcomed the shift in U.S. foreign policy under President Donald Trump, stating that Washington’s current approach “largely coincides” with Russia’s geopolitical stance.

In recent weeks, Trump has drastically altered U.S. policy on Ukraine, adopting a more conciliatory tone toward Russian President Vladimir Putin. He has also echoed Moscow’s rhetoric and accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of obstructing efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict, which began with Putin’s unprovoked invasion. This marks a stark contrast to former U.S. President Joe Biden, who actively supported Kyiv in its fight against Russian forces.

“The new U.S.] administration is rapidly reshaping foreign policy. This largely aligns with our perspective,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Sunday in a [video posted on Telegram.

His remarks come amid efforts by European leaders to repair growing tensions between Kyiv and Washington, following a heated exchange between Trump and Zelenskyy at the White House on Friday.

Peskov also praised the U.S. decision to support a United Nations draft resolution that avoids labeling Russia as the aggressor in the Ukraine war, calling it a shift that would have previously been “impossible to imagine.”

Oh, splendid! Just when you thought geopolitics couldn’t get more of a circus, here comes the U.S. with a policy shift that makes Moscow feel right at home. It’s like watching your mate finally agree that pineapple on pizza is acceptable—life’s full of surprises, innit? 🍕😏

Isn’t it just delightful when the U.S. decides to play follow-the-leader with Moscow? Makes you wonder if they’ve swapped their foreign policy manual for a Kremlin cookbook. 🍽️😏

Oh splendid, just what we needed—America’s foreign policy taking a scenic route through Moscow! Next, they’ll be sending ‘I ❤️ Putin’ bumper stickers to Kyiv, right? 😂
