Romanian Far-Right Leader Simion to Contest Presidential Election Defeat
Romanian far-right politician George Simion announced on Tuesday that he plans to challenge the results of the country’s recent presidential election, following his loss to centrist candidate and Bucharest Mayor Nicușor Dan.
Dan secured victory in the second round of voting, which was held after the original November election was annulled due to concerns over Russian interference.
“We will file a challenge with the Constitutional Court based on the same reasons that led to the annulment of the December elections,” Simion stated.
