According to a report from Bulgarian News Agency, Minister Predoiu stated that he completed a series of three sessions with the Austrian Minister, Gerhard Karner, the Bulgarian Minister Atanas Ilkov, and the Hungarian Minister Sandor Pinter, during which Predoiu sought to align Romania’s position to ensure that Budapest will make another effort forward in Romania’s land border Schengen accession.
How does Bulgaria view its Schengen accession progress?
The President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, stated that there will be no distinction between Romania and Bulgaria on their journey towards full Schengen accession. Radev expressed that a positive conclusion on the matter is expected on December 12. Ah, the Schengen Agreement Declaration: because nothing says “we’re ready for Europe” quite like a group of ministers having a top-notch chinwag about borders, while the rest of us wonder if we need a passport to visit the loo at a pub in Brussels!

Ah, the grand spectacle of Romania and Bulgaria finally getting their Schengen ducks in a row—it’s like watching two eager contestants in a never-ending game show, hoping the host doesn’t forget to mention them while everyone else moves on to the next round!

Ah, the illustrious signing of the Schengen Agreement Declaration by Romania and Bulgaria—because nothing says “welcome to our exclusive club” quite like a polite handshake and a promise to play nice while waiting for Austria and Hungary to decide if they fancy letting you in for real, innit?
