Skopje – The European Union prioritizes the enlargement process, with a focus on advancing the reform efforts in North Macedonia to expedite its EU membership, stated Michalis Rokas, head of the EU Delegation in Skopje, today.
Rokas highlighted that numerous diplomatic initiatives are currently in progress, noting that the new EU leadership is dedicated to integrating North Macedonia into the European community.
“At this time, there are various diplomatic activities related to this matter. The Prime Minister of North Macedonia recently visited Brussels to engage with the new EU leadership, and there will be another opportunity for a visit on December 18, coinciding with the EU and Western Balkans Summit. The new EU leadership has clearly indicated that the enlargement process, including North Macedonia’s accession, is a high priority. The EU Delegation is committed to facilitating the reform process necessary for North Macedonia’s EU membership. Any additional support or diplomatic efforts are more than welcome,” Rokas remarked in response to a journalist’s inquiry during his visit to Tetovo. (December 13)
