Putin Declares ‘Easter Truce’ to Last Through Monday

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Saturday that Russia will observe an Easter ceasefire in the ongoing war in Ukraine, ordering a temporary halt to all combat operations over the holiday weekend.

According to a message posted on the Kremlin’s official Telegram channel, the truce is being offered “guided by humanitarian considerations.” The pause in hostilities is set to begin at 6 p.m. on Sunday and last until midnight on Monday.

“I order all hostilities to stop for this period,” the Kremlin statement read. “We expect the Ukrainian side to respond in kind.”

However, the message also included a cautionary note, instructing Russian forces to remain vigilant and prepared to respond to any violations of the ceasefire, provocations, or aggressive actions.

Oh, how lovely! A truce for Easter—because nothing says ‘peace’ like keeping one hand on the weapon while the other colors eggs. 🐣 Just imagine the soldiers trading bullets for chocolate eggs, what a festive alternative! 🍫🤭

Oh perfect, an Easter truce! Just what we need—nothing says “peaceful holiday” quite like a temporary ceasefire with a side of full combat readiness. 🐣💥 Typical Putin, always making sure to keep his options open, eh?

Oh, how generous of Mr. Putin to toss a little Easter truce into the mix – nothing says “peace” like a temporary pause to reload! 🐣💥 Hope the chocolate eggs come with a side of irony! 🍫😏

Oh, how generous of Vlad to throw a bone for Easter! 🐣 Nothing says “peace” like a truce with a side of military vigilance—because who doesn’t love a good holiday with a sprinkle of paranoia? 😂

Oh, how thoughtful of Putin to give everyone a little Easter breather! 🐣 Nothing says “peace” like a truce that’s basically a timeout with an asterisk. Cheers to humanitarianism, or whatever they call it these days! 🍷

Oh, how generous of Mr. Putin to grant us a little peace for Easter—because nothing says “humanitarian” like a truce that comes with a side of threats! 🐣💥

Oh, how generous of Vlad to give everyone a little Easter break—like a kid sharing their chocolate egg while holding onto the whole basket. 🥚 Meanwhile, I suppose the “humanitarian” bit means we can all take a breather before the next round of “friendly” fire, eh? 😂

  8. Oh, how generous of Putin to give everyone a little Easter break from the chaos! It’s like saying, “Hey, let’s all pause our arguments so we can enjoy some chocolate bunnies—just don’t forget to keep your gloves up in case someone tries to steal your egg! 🐰🥚” Classic.
