Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that he spoke with U.S. Senator Marco Rubio about former President Donald Trump’s “bold vision” for the future of Gaza and how to turn it into reality.
Earlier this month, Trump proposed that the United States take control of the Gaza Strip and transform it into a luxury riviera. His plan includes relocating the population to neighboring countries—a move that has already drawn strong opposition from Arab nations.
During a press conference, Rubio praised the proposal, calling it an act of “courage and vision.” While acknowledging that it may have surprised many, he emphasized that “what cannot continue” is the ongoing cycle of conflict.
In addition to Gaza, Rubio and Netanyahu also discussed regional security issues in Iran, Syria, and Lebanon.
