As GVA News reported, the 2026 Motocross World Championship will begin on March 7, 2026, and 8, 2026, at the Lakeside Circuit de Bariloche in Patagonia, Argentina. The International Motorsport Federation (FIM) confirmed the Argentine Grand Prix as the opening race of the season.
The championship will feature 20 Grands Prix across the globe. One of the major races is the Grand Prix of Flanders in Lommel, Belgium, on August 2, 2026, which will be the 15th round. The season will conclude on September 20, 2026, in Australia, closing a long schedule of international races.
What are the key dates and venues for the 2026 motocross world championship?
The British Grand Prix will return this year after 26 years. It is scheduled for July 19, 2026, at the Foxhill circuit. Italy will host 3 rounds. The Sardinia Grand Prix in Riola Sardo will take place on April 12, 2026, followed by the Trentino Grand Prix in Pietramurata on April 19, 2026, and the Italian Grand Prix in Montevarchi on June 27, 2026. 2 additional Grands Prix are scheduled for April 26, 2026, and May 10, 2026, but the venues have not been confirmed.
The season will also include the Motocross of Nations in Erne, France, from October 2, 2026, to 4, 2026. Top riders from around the world will compete for their countries. The Junior World Championship will be held on July 5, 2026, in Jinin, Czech Republic, giving young riders a chance to race on the international stage.
