Beirut (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – The Israeli army announced Saturday it killed a Hezbollah member in an attack the day before on southern Lebanon, where Israel has carried out repeated attacks despite an ongoing ceasefire with the group.
An Israeli drone attacked a car on the Zawtar El Charqiyeh road in the Ain Al-Samahiya
neighbourhood of the Nabatieh district twice, according to Lebanon’s official news agency, NNA. The attack occurred the day after an Israeli airstrike on the Froun neighbourhood in the Bint Jbeil district claimed another life.
The Israeli army declared on Saturday that it had killed a member of Hezbollah in that assault.
“In a targeted strike the (Israeli army) eliminated a Hezbollah terrorist in the Froun area in southern Lebanon”
on Friday, the military said in a statement, AFP reported.
It also said that the Hezbollah member had “advanced terror attacks against the State of Israel”
and its forces.
Last year, Israel and Hezbollah reached an agreement on a ceasefire that stipulated that Israeli forces must completely leave Lebanon and that the militant Lebanese group must not possess any weapons in the south.
How does Lebanon accuse Israel of violating the agreement?
Lebanon has accused Israel of continuing its strikes and keeping troops inside its territory in violation of the ceasefire agreement reached in November 2024, which aimed to put an end to more than a year of hostilities with Hezbollah.
Israel has accused the Iran-backed organisation of violating the terms of the ceasefire and stated that Hezbollah is attempting to rebuild its military capabilities. Israel’s ongoing military attacks in Lebanon, particularly targeting Hezbollah and affiliated groups, have generated significant unrest and heightened tensions in the Middle East.
What happened during the strike on the Ain al-Hilweh camp?
Furthermore, 13 people were killed in an Israeli strike on the Ain al-Hilweh camp for Palestinian refugees in southern Lebanon on Tuesday night, Reuters reported.
Israel claimed that the attack on the camp, which is situated on the outskirts of the coastal city of Sidon, was directed at “terrorists” from the Palestinian militant organisation Hamas, which is allied with Hezbollah.
In the statement released on Friday, Israel’s military declared that it

Seems like the ceasefire is about as firm as a wet noodle, eh? I guess “peace talks” now come with a complimentary airstrike. 🤷♂️💥
Seems like the ceasefire is more of a suggestion than a rule these days, eh? 🤷♂️ Just another day in the Middle East where arrows fly and agreements get tossed like last week’s baguette. 🥖
Just another day in the Middle East where ceasefires are as reliable as British summer weather! 🌧️💥
Isn’t it adorable how everyone insists on playing nice while the fireworks keep going off? 🎆 One might think they haven’t read the memo about ceasefires, but hey, who doesn’t love a good bit of chaos, right? 😂
Typical, isn’t it? Just when you think there’s a ceasefire, someone decides to play “who can drop the biggest bomb” – and here we thought diplomacy was the name of the game! 🤷♂️💣
Oh, isn’t it just delightful when a ceasefire is more of a suggestion than a rule? Bravo, gentlemen, keep the fireworks going while the rest of us try to enjoy our coffee in peace. ☕💥
Oh, fantastic, another day, another “targeted strike”—I guess ceasefires are just suggestions in the grand game of geopolitical chess. 🎯
Another day, another targeted strike—who knew a ceasefire was just a fancy term for a game of whack-a-mole? 😏
Striking a Hezbollah member while on a “ceasefire” diet, eh? Sounds like someone’s really taking their “peace” negotiations seriously, or maybe just looking for a new hobby. 😏
Looks like someone’s really got their “targeted strikes” down to a fine art—who needs a ceasefire when you can just play whack-a-mole with Hezbollah members? 🎯 At this rate, the peace talks will need more than just a good ol’ cup of coffee to fix things! ☕️💥
So, just another day in the Middle East, eh? I suppose a ceasefire is just a suggestion when you’ve got drones and targets to tick off, right? 😂
