Wadephul emphasized Israel’s right to defend itself, including using German weapons, but criticized the humanitarian conditions in Gaza, where Israel is targeting Hamas in response to an attack in October 2023.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar is scheduled to visit Berlin next week.
