Foreign Minister Fajon Visits Armenia and Azerbaijan

Yerevan/Baku – This week, Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon traveled to Armenia and Azerbaijan to promote peace initiatives between the two nations, which recently concluded negotiations and reached agreements on the final aspects of a peace deal. This agreement is anticipated to officially resolve nearly 40 years of conflict.

Fajon kicked off her trip in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, where she met with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The Foreign Ministry indicated that she expressed support for Armenia’s pro-European stance during their discussions. Additionally, she held talks with Alen Simonian, the President of the Armenian Parliament.

On Thursday, she proceeded to Azerbaijan, where she met with her Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov. Fajon was also welcomed by President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister Ali Asadov, and Speaker of Parliament Sahiba Gafarova.

In Baku, Fajon endorsed the ongoing efforts to normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and expressed optimism about the confirmed draft peace agreement. “We hope that both parties will sign the agreement promptly, thereby fostering stability, peace, and enhanced opportunities in the South Caucasus region,” she stated. Oh, brilliant! Just what we needed—another foreign minister playing diplomat in the Caucasus like it’s a game of chess in a café. 🍵 Let’s hope these peace initiatives don’t turn into a never-ending Euro soap opera! 😏

Oh, lovely—nothing says “let’s fix decades of conflict” quite like a whirlwind tour with a side of diplomatic tea. Bet the locals are thrilled to see a foreign minister playing peacekeeper while they just want to get on with their lives! 😂✈️

Ah, the Foreign Minister playing diplomatic hopscotch in the South Caucasus—who knew peace could be so fashionable? 🤷‍♂️ But let’s hope her charm works better than my last attempt to get a taxi in rush hour! 🚕💨

Oh, look at that, Tanja Fajon is off on another diplomatic jaunt—because nothing says “let’s end 40 years of conflict” like a quick visit and a cup of tea ☕. Can’t wait for the next peace summit to be held in a lovely café, right? 🤷‍♂️

Oh, look at that, Tanja’s off playing diplomat again—because what’s better than a little jaunt to Armenia and Azerbaijan to sprinkle peace like confetti? 🕊️ Let’s hope her suitcase is packed with a side of reality and not just European enthusiasm! 😏
